Rail shoulder, also known as a rail iron shoulder, is a critical component cast directly into concrete ties to securely fixate elastic rail clips. These components provide essential lateral support to the rails, ensuring track stability and safety under heavy loads.
Based on their design and installation requirements, they are categorized into Single Stem Rail Iron Shoulders and Twin Stems Rail Iron Shoulders. Manufacturing techniques include casting, weld-on applications, and hot forging methods.
The rail shoulder is embedded in concrete during the casting process, allowing it to grip the elastic clip effectively. There are two primary types of shoulders widely used in the industry:
- Cast-in Shoulder: Specifically designed to be integrated during the sleeper production.
- Weld-on Shoulder: Utilized for specific applications where welding to a base plate is required.
- Single Stem Type: Primarily used in pre-stressed concrete ties.
- Twin Stem Type: Optimized for Bi-Block or Twin Block concrete ties.
All manufacturing processes follow rigorous ISO 9001 quality management protocols. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our four-step quality assurance process:
- Raw Material Inspection: Before production starts, materials are tested for chemical composition and mechanical properties. Batch numbers are strictly tracked.
- In-Process Sampling: Quality inspectors perform batch testing during manufacturing, ensuring every stage meets technical specifications.
- Physical & Chemical Testing: Depending on the specific requirements of the rail shoulder, comprehensive physical and chemical inspections are conducted.
- Technical Guidance: We maintain strict coordination with all internal and external processing units to ensure only 100% qualified products reach the final stage.
